One of the games that brought classic arcade machines to the forefront in America was Pinball. It was initially banned as a gambling device until the introduction of flippers in 1947. These allowed users to show that it was a game of skill, and bans were slowly lifted in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
After pinball came some of the classics we know and love today; Space Invaders, Pacman, Donkey Kong and Tetris.
Today classic arcade games are as popular as ever as players compete for high scores. They’re excellent for driving additional revenue and entertaining patrons keeping them at your bar or entertainment venue for longer periods of time.

pACMAN
The world’s most successful video arcade game which burst onto the seen in 1980. By 1990, Midway had sold 400,000 Pacman arcade units. Today it’s one of the most popular retro games at bars and arcades.
sPACE INVADERS
Another extremely popular arcade game was developed by Taito and launched in 1978. Initially the game was met with a mixed reaction, with some fans queuing to play the arcade game, and many arcade owners predicted slow sales. However, by the end of 1978, Taito had installed over 100,000 machines.
Both Pacman and Space Invaders went on to have multiple redevelopments, and even the original games can still be found in arcades around the world. This is a testament to the popularity and longevity of these arcade games.
